Pam's Fluzzie; Fun Hat with Serious Side (Chemo Hat) Made with mixed fluffy yarns & thin yarns in variegated blue fluffy yarn & silver tone thin yarns; Stretchy head band of blue will fit most heads; The Fluff gives head shape while hair is gone and then you have Fun Colors to lift spirits;The construction method lets the head breath and release heat, while the fluff also protects the delicate scalp from sun and breezes.
These are a Fun hat also with the serious side. The first one I knit because a friend had lost hair due to chemo. Many friends had made hats for her but they were too dense and because the head is like a chimney, she found they were too hot. Because I have made shawls for many years with combination of yarns, I thought I could help her with that problem and make a chemo hat she could wear. I showed her a number of yarns to chose from and said using the ones she chose, I would try making her a different type of hat; one that would give shape to her head, protect her tender scalp, be pretty, yet the material would let her head breath. I hope this would work. It did! and she said she loved it. The next hat was in school colors (OSU orange and black) and was a fun hat for my college going daughter. Thus began fluzzie making for fun and for the serious side for chemo hats. I even had a lady buy one as a fun hat and she said she didn't care if the cows didn't like it, She did and was going to wear it when feeding her cattle. OOK Hats may have 3 yarns up to 8 different yarns.

To care for these, you must hand wash and flat dry.
